THE ROLE

“Sutton and south London can significantly contribute to London’s growth and future success as a world city. We want to work with the Greater London Authority and the Government to unlock that potential and help achieve ambitious targets for housing, sustainable living and economic growth.”

Cllr Ruth Dombey, Leader of Sutton Council

Now is the time to get involved! Our Local Plan sets out our 15 year vision to unlock development opportunities to drive London’s economic growth. Our masterplan aims to maximise growth in our town centre.

It aims to strengthen the competitive position of Sutton town centre within outer London and guide prospective developments, in line with our requirements and aspirations. Our proposals for housing regeneration will mean significantly more homes to meet Sutton’s needs.

Working closely with key partners, we will play a significant role as both a planning authority and landowner in the town centre in advancing these strategic projects, shaping development through planning and policy, engaging residents and stakeholders and in delivering new investment.

We are seeking a new Housing Regeneration Manager to translate our housing and community renewal ambitions into concrete delivery plans.  The role requires an understanding of the financial, legal and social environments in which we operate, and the needs and challenges of an outer London borough.

Our initial proposals for engagement set out in June 2017 have been revised and we are looking for you to re-frame our programme delivery plans

You will lead on all aspects of planning our consultation and engagement with residents, including options appraisals and feasibility studies.

The role requires the ability to work collaboratively with residents and communities, elected members, senior colleagues and relevant partners to understand their requirements and expectations and to develop and deliver a programme which supports our goals and statutory responsibilities.

You will build and sustain high-level strategic partnerships with governmental and regional agencies including the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), Greater London Authority (GLA) and Transport for London (TfL).

You will lead on all aspects of the preparation and planning stages of the programme, including commissioning appropriate technical and specialist resources to enable delivery. The role will require substantial and successful experience in a programme management post within the area of housing and regeneration or related professional fields

You will have a successful track record of collaborative working with residents and communities, council members and partners to ensure we meet our regeneration objectives.
